Genshin Impact has revealed a new Cryo character from Fontaine named Escoffier. She is a renowned chef from the Nation of Justice and will be released in the upcoming version 5.6 update. Read on for more details about the new chef on the roster.
Escoffier, the Fairy of Fondant Felicity
HoYoverse has announced a new playable character named Escoffier, a famous chef in Fontaine. She will debut in the upcoming Genshin Impact 5.6 update, which is expected to go live on May 7, 2025.
Here are some details about Escoffier via her official drip marketing post on Genshin Impact's official X account:
- Title: Tasteful Excellence
- Lead Goose of Precision Gastronomy
- Vision: Cryo
- Constellation: Dulciaria Structura
- Arkhe: Ousia
Escoffier is a Cryo character, but her rarity and weapon type are still up in the air. However, the information from beta suggests that she is likely to be a 5-star unit that uses a Polearm. Additionally, Escoffier is expected to be an amazing Cryo support and sub-DPS unit.

Escoffier is a former Head Chef of Hotel Debord in the Court of Fontaine and is a very popular figure in the Hydro nation. According to Navia, Escoffier simply loves cooking but can be a little strict about it and is hardly the terror the papers make her out to be. However, the Fairy of Fondant Felicity also does not show any respect to those who don't take cooking seriously.
Escoffier expected release date
Version 5.6 is expected to be released on May 7, 2025, so you can expect Escoffier to debut on one of the following dates:
- Phase 1 - Mar 7, 2025
- Phase 2- May 27, 2025
That said, since Escoffier is the first character to be revealed for the new update, she is highly likely to be released in the first phase of version 5.6.
